Ductless Mini Split Installation

Zoned comfort engineered for homes, additions, garages, workshops and historic properties across Virginia.

A successful mini split installation begins before the first bracket is mounted. Sizing the system to the room’s actual heat gain and loss, positioning the indoor unit for balanced air distribution, routing lines cleanly, and performing proper evacuation and pressure testing are what separate dependable comfort from ongoing service headaches.

Our Professional Installation Standards

Every detail matters. We follow rigorous manufacturer guidelines and engineering standards on every installation.

01

Site Assessment & Thermal Load Calculation

We evaluate room square footage, ceiling height, insulation quality, window surface area, and sun exposure to calculate exact BTU heating and cooling requirements.

02

Indoor Unit Selection & Optimal Placement

We help you select the ideal unit style—high wall mount, low floor console, or ceiling cassette—and position it to ensure optimal airflow distribution and aesthetic harmony.

03

Outdoor Condenser Positioning & Mounting

We select a quiet, well-ventilated exterior location, mounting the condenser on an elevated composite ground pad or sturdy wall brackets above snow and debris.

04

Clean Line Set Penetration & Architectural Hide

We create a clean 3-inch wall penetration and route refrigerant lines, electrical wiring, and condensate drainage inside durable, color-matched architectural line hide.

05

Dedicated Electrical Circuit Coordination

We verify electrical panel capacity and coordinate the required dedicated 115V or 208/240V circuit, disconnect switch, and surge protection.

06

Nitrogen Pressure Test, Deep Vacuum & Commissioning

We pressure-test the closed system with dry nitrogen, pull a deep vacuum below 500 microns to remove moisture, release refrigerant, and verify operational pressures and temperatures.

Aesthetic & Functional Variety

Indoor Air Handler Styles

Choose the form factor that best complements your interior architecture and airflow needs.

High-Wall Mounted Units

The most popular and cost-effective style. Mounted high on an exterior or interior wall, delivering quiet, even airflow across the entire room with motorized louvers.

Floor-Mounted Consoles

Ideal for rooms with low knee walls, historic radiator replacements, or vaulted ceilings. Positioned near the floor, delivering low-level heat and upper cooling discharge.

Ceiling Cassettes

Recessed flush into the ceiling between standard ceiling joists. Only a subtle grille is visible, providing 4-way 360-degree air distribution for central living spaces.

Mini Split Installation FAQs

Common questions about the installation timeline, process, and preparation.

How long does a mini split installation take?

A single-zone system typically takes 4 to 8 hours to install, commission, and test. Multi-zone systems spanning 3 to 5 indoor units generally require 1 to 2 business days depending on line set routing complexity.

Do I need a dedicated electrical circuit?

Yes. Residential mini splits require a dedicated circuit from your main electrical panel or subpanel to an exterior disconnect switch near the outdoor condenser.

Will the exterior piping look unsightly on my home?

No. We encase all exterior line sets, control wiring, and drain tubing in professional architectural line hide (slimduct) that follows architectural corners and can be painted to match your siding or trim.
