Independent Multi-Room Climate Control

Multi-Zone Mini Split Systems

Connect 2 to 5+ indoor air handlers to a single outdoor heat pump for customized room-by-room comfort.

Multi-zone systems provide independent thermostat control in each living space while minimizing outdoor equipment clutter. With individual variable-speed metering, only the active indoor heads receive refrigerant flow, saving energy throughout the day.

Compare Single vs Multi-Zone

How Multi-Zone Ductless Systems Work

A single outdoor inverter compressor distributes refrigerant through individual electronic expansion valves to each room’s indoor unit.

Independent Temperature Settings

Each room has its own handheld remote or wall thermostat. One room can be set to 68°F while another is kept at 74°F without conflict.

Mix & Match Indoor Styles

Pair wall-mounted units in bedrooms with a flush ceiling cassette in the open living room and a floor console in the study.

Reduced Outdoor Footprint

Rather than cluttering your exterior landscaping with 3 or 4 separate compressors, one slimline multi-zone condenser powers everything.

An Important Operational Fact: Mode Matching

In residential multi-zone heat pump systems connected to a single outdoor condenser, all active indoor air handlers operate in the same mode—either all heating or all cooling.

While you cannot have one bedroom cooling to 65°F while another is actively heating to 75°F at the exact same moment on a standard residential multi-zone system, each room modulates its temperature output independently within that mode. For applications requiring simultaneous heating and cooling in different rooms, separate single-zone systems provide complete independence.
